Welcome to Sixth Grade

  •

    ·       We are your 6th grade teachers and we are so excited that you're here! For this 2023-2024 school year, we will be covering these core objectives below:

In both Grade-Level and Honors Math, we will be focusing heavily on fractions, decimals, and percentages. We will also explore integers, geometry and measurement, financial literacy and data analysis. Learners in Honors math will deepen some of these standards in 7th grade extensions.

In Science, your learner will explore several topics: Properties of Matter, Physical and Chemical Changes, Energy, Force and Cells. Learners will explore the Earth’s layers and systems while learning about the Earth’s cycles and its place in the solar system. Learners will also study Ecosystems and the relationships and population variations within.

This year in RLA your child will mostly be challenged to synthesize literary and informational texts to make connections to themselves, other texts, and the world they live in. We will encourage your child to take all we are learning in reading and apply those skills as writers, too.

This year in Social Studies, your student will travel the globe in their first geography course. We will touch on government and economic systems state-side and abroad. Expanding our knowledge of local and global culture will bring social studies to life and keep your learners engaged.

In math, we will be focusing heavily on fractions, decimals, and percentages. We will also explore integers, geometry and measurement, financial literacy and data analysis.

Please reach out at anytime as your child's growth and development is extremely important to us.

    Relationships. Innovation. Excellence.
