Mrs. Blancas

My name is Teresa Blancas and I am teaching 6th grade Reading and Language Arts. I am so excited to be opening Garcia Elementary! I look forward to starting traditions and setting the bar!

This is my 13th year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Houston and taught 7th grade Reading in Pearland for 10 years. We moved up to Rockwall in 2019 and I began teaching 6th grade RLA  at Shannon.

I have been married for 16 years and have 2 children, a daughter and a son. My daughter is an 8th grader at Utley Middle School and my son is a 5th grader here at Garcia. We adopted our dog, Trevi, about six years ago.

Having grown up and spent most of my life in Houston, I am a fan of things Houston. The Astros and the  University of Houston Cougars  are my favorite teams to root for. 

I love to travel. My favorite trips have been to Italy (twice) and driving up the coast of California. This summer we went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and visited the Everglades to see some real alligators!
