Welcome
to the Rockwall Independent School district’s web site and to our school
district. I hope you will find the District’s site both informative and easy to
navigate as we continue to expand our technology efforts.
Rockwall lies just across Lake Ray Hubbard approximately 23 miles east of
Dallas. While embracing the culture of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, Rockwall
simultaneously maintains its traditional small-town values.
These are exciting times as Rockwall ISD continues to be one of the
fastest-growing districts in North Texas. We are fortunate to have a community
that supports our school system and our students. Community members are
supportive because they, too, are proud of the quality of education and the
endless opportunities awaiting our students.
In light of our continued growth and development, we retain a solid foundation
built upon past traditions. Our district educates over 13,000 students
in grades Pre-K through high school. Although we incorporate technology and the
latest educational research into our instructional programs, we work diligently
to look at each child individually. We've made it our goal to be an exemplary district that focuses on student
achievement and meets the needs of all students.
Our district has a rich legacy of success due to teachers, staff members,
parental involvement, community support and a dedicated Board of Trustees. A few
notable achievements include:
-
Just for the Kids elementary school recognition
-
SAT and ACT scores considerably higher than state
and national composite scores
-
Professional Development Program
-
Early childhood education
-
Active PTA volunteer program
-
Financial ratings
On behalf of our Board of Trustees and staff, I would like to thank you for
visiting our web site and encourage you to visit our school district. Please
feel free to contact us at any time for additional information.
