ROCK Staff Member Paints Mural for Nebbie Williams Library with Help from ROCK Students

ROCK Employee Paints Mural for Nebbie Williams Library

Kathy Moore, site coordinator for the Rockwall ISD ROCK program, recently unveiled the mural she painted for the Nebbie Williams Elementary Library.

The ROCK students at Nebbie Williams helped choose the design of the mural as well as assisted in the painting of it.

Katherine Zurbach, library media specialist for Nebbie Williams, isn’t a fan of empty walls in her library, so when she saw an empty space above the door, she knew who to call: Mrs. Moore and her ROCK students!

“It hit me that this year, the only group that still needed to make an impact on the library was the ROCK kids,” said Mrs. Zurbach.  “I asked Mrs. Moore to help, and with as creative at she is, she just took it and ran with it.”

If you look closely at the painting, you will see all of the ROCK students’ names blended into the grass.  You’ll have to look closely to find Mrs. Moore’s signature as well.

“I don’t like putting a big signature in a painting that takes away from the picture,” said Mrs. Moore. “I hide it. It’s there but you have to look for it.”
