The Rockwall-Heath HS and Rockwall HS Intro to Culinary Arts students recently demonstrated four healthy snacks that had to meet specific nutrition requirements, be kid friendly, include apricot or jicama and be themed around the State Fair of Texas to Rockwall ISD elementary students.
The winning recipes were the State Fair Fruit Dog created by Morgan Pewick & Brooke Schwabb and the Big Tex Mex Taco created by Ian Miller, Grace Oduro, Kiara Cruz-Rivera and Jeryn Shanks.
These recipes will be featured in the Medical City Children’s Hospital Healthy Snack Cookbook, which will be distributed to every elementary student in Rockwall ISD in the fall of 2018.
