Pullen Students Launch Books and Board Games Service Project

A group of Pullen students recently gathered at Brookdale Summer Ridge Assisted Living for the first of their Books and Board Games service project visits.  Students and residents played board games and read books together.

Both the seniors and the students enjoyed the time together as was evident by the many smiles and sounds of laughter.

“It was fun to read my books to the older people and play games with them,” said Kristah Campos, a first grader.   “They told us about themselves and listened to me read.”

Pullen students have been challenged to complete three hours of community service per semester.  The Books and Board Games program provides opportunities for students to complete those hours.  It will be held every third Wednesday of the month.
