Pullen Elementary Students Learn about Pacific West Indigenous Peoples Through Writing
Each day, Jones Elementary students participate in a mini-lesson using a mentor text or a student writing sample which helps students focus on the development of their own writing.
Students regularly reflect on their progress and compare their progress to the goal they set at the beginning of the grading period.
Sixth grade recently finished up their North America unit of study by writing a reflection of their learning in a foldable and by creating totems similar to those created by the Pacific West indigenous peoples.
