Amy Parks-Heath Elementary Celebrates Texas Weeks with Bluebonnet Stomp

Amy Parks-Heath Elementary recently celebrated "Texas Week" with their traditional Bluebonnet Stomp.   Students proudly wore their school shirts with western wear and gathered to sing songs about Texas and “stomp" bluebonnet seeds into the ground.

The older students even provided fun entertainment by performing traditional line dancing.  The goal of the event is to plant bluebonnet seeds around campus and watch them grow into beautiful bluebonnets in the Spring.

State Representative Justin Holland and his family attended the event and presented the school with a Texas Flag that was previously flown over the Texas State Capital.  Representative Holland and his wife, Neely, are the proud parents to an APHE Kindergartener, Wiley Beth, and a future APHE Mariner, Cullie.

Students watched Boy Scouts from Troop 386 raised the flags and everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag.
