Rockwall HS Stingerettes Finish Season with Wins

 

The Rockwall Stingerettes recently competed in their final competition of the season at the University of North Texas in Denton where the Stingerette Line won National Champions in all three team categories entered: National Champion Jazz, National Champion Open and National Champion Contemporary.

 

This competition is the most competitive dance contest in the dance/drill world as teams come from all over the US and abroad to compete at American Dance Drill Team Nationals Competition.   

 

Rockwall took three teams, the Stingerette officers, Stingerette Elite Show Stoppers, and the Stingerette Line. 

 

The Stingerette Officers were awarded National Champions in Open and 1st runner up in Jazz and Contemporary.  The Officers were also awarded Best of the Best Team Officers, where all officer squads are ranked regardless of team/school size. 

 

The Stingerette Show Stoppers were awarded National Champions in Jazz, Lyrical and Novelty.  They were also selected National Champion Overall Elite Team, the Best of the Best Team and were awarded the "WOW" award for their Novelty performance.  

 

The Stingerettes were also given the Jewel Award from the Japanese Dance Ambassador for the highest scoring team of the contest. 

 

In the soloist category, of the top five solo winners, Rockwall had three. Tatum Graham was awarded the National Solo Winner,  Brooke Peterson came in 2nd runner up and Jessi Schmitt came in 1st runner up.

 

To top off the night, the Stingerette Director Jessica Clark was awarded Most Outstanding Director.
