Storybook Pumpkins
Walking down the first grade hallway at Pullen during October is a stroll through a storybook character pumpkin patch. In October, the first graders choose a book to read at home with their families. The students decide how they are going to depict their favorite character from the book as a pumpkin. The first graders and their families work together to create their storybook pumpkin masterpieces. Students present their pumpkin creations in class, sharing information about the story and the character they created. This favorite annual tradition at Pullen brings students and their families together in a fun family literacy activity.
