  • Fishing Teams qualify for Regional

    Three teams qualify for the Central Regional Championship to be held at Lake Palestine on April 22nd.  The team of Nolan Yeager and Will Riley are currently ranked 17th.  Cole Hill and Matthew Wilcox are ranked 24th, and Adam Villarreal is ranked 68th in the region out of 168 teams.  These young men have put in countless hours on the lake, and are fishing for the opportunity to compete in the State Championships on May 20-21 on Lake Ray Roberts.

  • Cheer Tryouts

    In order to tryout, candidates must:

    1. Sign up at their school’s front office between 4/3/17-4/6/17. 
    2. A student may not try out for RHS Cheer if they have not signed up in the Front Office.
    3. You must attend the Mandatory Parent/Candidate Meeting on 4/11/17, at 7:00pm in the RHS Cafeteria Annex. Both the candidate and parent MUST attend the meeting!
    4. Next, attend the Tryout Clinic on 4/17/17-4/19/17 at 4:30pm-6:00pm in Main Gym.
    5. Tryouts will be held 4/21/17.
    6. Both the candidate and parent MUST attend the New Members Orientation on 4/25/17 at 7:00pm in the RHS Lecture Hall.

  • Ryan Szafran Selected for Exchange Program

    RHS sophomore Ryan Szafran has been selected to participate in the year-long Congress-Bundestag exchange program.

    He will go to Washington D.C. and meet with a congressional delegation.  He will then travel to Germany and participate in a Language Camp.  He is then placed with a German family and will go to a German school for a year.  During the course of the year, Ryan will be representing Rockwall HS at the Bundestag (German Parliament), and at his new school. I can think of few better candidates for this program.

  • Come Cheer Our A Cappella Group on to Nationals!

    Our A Cappella group, "Walk the Line", will be competing at the ICHSA semi finals this weekend at Marcus High School in Flower Mound. They are competing for the top spot in semifinals, earning them a place at the National Competition in New York City in late April. If you would like to attend the show this Saturday (3/25/17), we have a district bus picking up at 5:15 pm to take a group to the show. You will need to purchase your show ticket online, but the bus is free. For more info, see a "Walk the Line" student or go by the choir room to talk to Mrs. Browning and sign up on the bus list. Best of Luck to Walk the Line this weekend!

    • Tuesday, March 21st during lunch from 11:30 - 1:00, in the school cafeteria.

  • UIL One Act Play

    Please come enjoy our One Act Play, Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin.

    March 2nd & 3rd in the RHS Theatre @ 7:00pm !

    Grand dress rehearsal, Thursday March 2nd is free.  General Admission Friday March 3rd is $5 for students and $10 for adults. 

    RHS students have worked very hard to prepare for their UIL competition. They would love to have a full house both nights to help them get ready for next week's contest!  JFND - See you there.

  • RHS Swimmers head to State Meet

    The Rockwall High School Swim Team has a group of swimmers headed to the State competition for the second year in a row.  This is a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as their talent!


    The following girls advance to state:  

    • Amanda Armstrong
    • Janelle Hummingbird
    • Emma Hultquist
    • Kendall Brown
    • Aurelia Incristi. 


    In addition to the 200 medley and 400 medley, Amanda Armstrong, Janelle Hummingbird, and Emma Hultquist have also qualified to swim individual events.

  • Architectural Drafting Competition

    Rockwall High School architectural students competed at the Regional Skills USA Competition in Waco, Texas.  

    • Jordan Hensley placed 3rd in the Architectural Drafting Competition, and received a perfect score in the Architectural Drafting Job Exhibit Competition.

    FCCLA Regional Competition

    Rockwall and Heath students competed in the regional FCCLA competition in Waco February 4, 2017. All nine competitors placed and advanced to the state competition. 

    In the Fashion Design - Senior category:

    • 1st Place - Claire Randolph-RHS
    • 2nd Place - Emilee Garcia-RHS

  • RHS Students Qualify for State

    This past Saturday, RHS hosted the Region 25 UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest.  

    We submitted 21 solo entries and 2 ensemble entries.  

    • 15 of our solo performers received a division one rating (The highest rating)!
    • Both ensembles received a division one rating! (The highest rating)!

    From our 23 entries 17 students qualified for the state competition.  We have our UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest on March 1st and 2nd at Allen High School.  If you would like to hear our amazing musicians, please feel free to attend our contest or come to our Pre-UIL Concert this coming Monday, February 6th starting at 4:30 in the Heath Performing Arts Center.

  • RHS Wrestling Team Wins

    Congratulations to our Rockwall Wrestling team for defeating the defending 5A State Champion. Rockwall Yellowjackets beat Heath Hawks 47-11. Rockwall dominated their opponent by winning 10 out of 13 matches. The victory runs up their dual record to 4-0.

  • Early Release Day
    Rockwall ISD will hold early release on February 22, 2017. Elementary release at 12 p.m. and secondary release at 1 p.m. Student will return on February 23.
