Rockwall High School delivers a robust, challenging and engaging educational experience to 9th -12th grade students. Our core classes, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, and numerous Advanced Placement (AP) courses prepare our students for the challenges of a broad college curriculum. We are proud to announce that will be offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to the Class of 2016 and beyond.
Rockwall High School has more to offer than just college oriented academics. We have award winning Fine Arts, Career and Technology, as well as UIL Athletic programs.
RHS has a robust wireless network in place which allows for the learning community to embrace a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) model of learning to support 21st century learning. Students are afforded state of the art technology through out their high school career here at RHS not only with BYOD but with the use of COWs (Computers on Wheels), technology labs, CATE courses and technology support both instructionally and technically.
Each curriculum and grade level has a designated framework for instruction at Rockwall ISD schools. Rockwall’s curriculum is the State of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The TEKS are bundled into units of student for each core content subject area and grade level. The sequence of these units for RISD curriculum is listed in the Year at a Glance document for each core content below:
- English Language Arts
- Social Studies
Rockwall ISD uses documents in the TEKS Resource System to support teachers in planning and designing their instruction to meet the needs of their students. The TEKS Resource System has recently added a Parent Resources tab to their website at www.teksresourcesystem.net
