Having a crisis?
We recognize that in the course of any given day, students at all ages and all
campuses face the challenges of academics, personal and social life,
extra-curricular activities and more. Your campus counselor is the best
person to contact first when you need help. Trained and compassionate,
school counselors have ready access to people and resources to help with what
students are going through.
A number of organizations and initiatives on Rockwall campuses deal with the
most relevant issues of the day, including the following:
Conflict Resolution
Ask about the PALS program at your campus. This organization brings student
leaders together for intervention training and support of common student
conflicts. The PALS team at each school work to mediate conflicts and find
solution. In addition, PALS members often volunteer for a variety of activities
in the district.
Discipline
The assistant elementary schools and assistant principals at middle and
secondary schools usually handle all discipline issues in the school. Have a
question or need clarification about discipline or consequences? Check with them
first.
Drug-Free Schools
Rockwall ISD actively supports a state-wide initiative known as DFY-IT (“Drug
Free Youth in Texas”). DFY-IT works to educate and support students who commit
to be drug-free, through activities both on and off-campus. Student develop
skills that are important now, but also in the future.
Personal Safety
All schools are concerned with student safety and your personal well-being. We
monitor entrances, hallways and other areas closely to ensure your personal
safety. Parents and guardians must sign in immediately upon entering a school,
and every visitor must register at the front office. In addition, School
Resource Officers (SROs) are on or near every campus to ensure the safety of the
school.
Student Health Services
In the effort to embrace education of the whole person, Rockwall ISD actively
works to educate students about a range of health-related issues. From exercise
and weight, to nutrition and disease prevention, you will see regular
dissemination of information and topical discussions about health and wellness.
