At Rockwall ISD,
we have adopted a policy for dress and grooming designed to provide safe
schools and effective learning environments. Like most school districts,
we acknowledge a wide range of styles in clothing that provide plenty of
room for personal tastes and comfort. No one is out to limit your
freedoms. Just use good common sense in making appropriate choices and
help us maintain the high level of excellence we enjoy at Rockwall ISD.
Thank you in advance for adhering to the dress code at school and all
extracurricular activities. The dress code is described fully in
the student handbook.

Why do we have a dress code?
-
To improve academic focus and the learning
environment
-
To build self esteem
-
To reduce racial and ethnic tensions
-
To bridge the socio-economic differences among
students
-
To promote positive behavior
-
To enhance school safety
-
To strengthen chances for success
-
To prepare students for work
Please note that school principals at each campus have the final say in
determining appropriate dress and compliance to school dress code. If you have
questions or comments about the dress code, direct them to the principal’s
office. Failure to comply with dress codes or other policies will result in
disciplinary action including suspension.
See Student Code of Conduct for more information.
