    Rockwall ISD offers career and technical education (CTE) programs in Agriculture Food and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, A/V Technology and Communication; Business Management and Administration’ Education and Training; Finance; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; Law and Public Safety; Marketing; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Transportation; and Career Preparation work programs.  Admission to these programs is based on the student’s interest and aptitude, age appropriateness, and class space available.

    It is the policy of Rockwall ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap or age in its vocational programs, services, or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

    It is the policy of Rockwall ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, or age in its employment practices as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

    Rockwall ISD will take steps to assure that lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in all educational and vocational programs.

    Perkins Assurance

    Each year, the Rockwall Independent School District receives funds under Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998.  Under this act, funds must be made to supplement Career and Technical activities and experiences, grades 7-12.  Use of these funds must not supplant district funding.

    The assurances include observable activities at all schools receiving funds, in the following areas:

    • Curriculum integration
    • Staff development
    • Career guidance and counseling
    • Career concentration and coherent sequence development
    • Nontraditional programs and activities
    • Participatory planning with parent and student involvement
