World Geography / PAP
WORLD GEOGRAPHY STUDIES – examines physical and human geography of the world and the influence of geography on the past and present. A significant portion of the course centers around the physical processes; the characteristics of major land forms, climates, and ecosystems and their relationships; the political, economic and social processes that shape cultural patterns of regions, types of settlement; the distribution and movement of the world population; relationships among people, places and environments, and the concept of region.
PRE-AP WORLD GEOGRAPHY STUDIES – is designed to provide enrichment beyond mastery of the state essential knowledge and skills for World Geography as well as to equip students with critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving strategies necessary for success in Advanced Placement courses. Strong reading and writing skills are necessary. Summer reading may be required.
