English II / Pre-AP

  • ENGLISH II -This course is the study of world literature by genre and theme based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills objectives. The course includes studies of various literary genres: short story, poetry, novel, drama and non-fiction. The development of critical reading and critical writing skills is a major emphasis of the course. Beginning with the Class of 2015, this course requires an EOC assessment.

     

    PRE-AP ENGLISH II -This course covers the same TEKS as English II. The curriculum incorporates additional strategies to prepare the student for Advance Placement (AP) courses. Projects form an integral part of the course. Outside of class and summer reading may be required. Beginning with the Class of 2015, this course requires an EOC assessment.
