The idea of community television began in the 1990’s with the idea of giving non-profit, educational and community-based organization a venue for programming and announcements. Rockwall ISD uses the local access cable station channel 43 for just this purpose. Available in Rockwall through the local cable television provider, Insight 43 RISD TV has established goals and programs designed to enhance learning for students and deliver informational content to the community.

Mission for Channel 43
To offer student produced programming and to give insight into what is going on at all campuses at RISD. Students put together productions that incorporate pre-production, production, and post-production. Students also work on crew for productions produced by students at Rockwall High School.
