Campus Assistance, Referral, and Evaluation (CARE) Teams of the Rockwall ISD are campus-based teams that serve as a multilevel system of child study. They serve as teacher assistance teams to support teachers experiencing difficulties with selected students and coordinate school intervention planning. These teams are designed to provide a forum for problem solving. CARE Teams meet the state and federal requirements as a pre-referral committee of students for possible special education services. Prior to referral, students experiencing difficulty in the general classroom should be considered for all support services available to all students, such as tutorial, remedial, compensatory, and other services.
