About Us:
Beyond educating students, Rockwall ISD strives to have a positive impact on the
greater Rockwall community. The community spirit is evident in attendance at
school-sponsored activities. Community members feel welcome to visit our schools
and mentor students.
The Department encourages collaborative relationships with businesses, community
members, parents and students by providing opportunities of life-long learning
through Rockwall ISD’s Community Education Program. This relationship between
the district and community is vital to the success of our students, teachers,
businesses, and city government.

Helping Hands Back to School Fair
PTA, community volunteers, and Rotary mentor volunteers are actively involved in
volunteering and contributing to our District.
RISD campuses have very active parent/teacher organizations involved in
volunteering.
Approximately 38,000 volunteer hours were contributed in the 2005 school year.
Volunteers perform many tasks such as working in the libraries, reading to
students, and assisting in school offices.
