The Rockwall Independent School District is located approximately 23 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, Texas on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in suburban Rockwall County.



The District encompasses 108 square miles, approximately 70 percent of Rockwall County, and a mix of residential, commercial, and agricultural use properties. Collin, Dallas, and Kaufman counties bound the District on three sides.

Approximately 48,000 people live in the District. This geographic area includes the cities of Rockwall, Heath, McLendon-Chisholm, Fate, Royse City, a portion of Rowlett, and surrounding rural areas.
