The
RISD Education Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation chartered in October, 2003. The Foundation operates independently from the
school district, soliciting private grants and community involvement in order to provide funds to support the students and staff of Rockwall ISD. It exists
to enhance education in the Rockwall ISD through fostering creative and innovative approaches to education.
From cultural exploration to movie production to technology to a myriad of topics,
the Foundation eagerly awards Innovative Teaching Grants to exceptional and creative programs.
The majority of the funds are generated by contributions garnered from the community.
The Founding Partners made significant investments to initiate the program and the support continues,
coming from the entire community in the form of cash and asset contributions such as stock and annuities.
The Century Club is an integral part of the Foundation support and includes the Community, Grandparents,
Alumni, and RISD Employees who contribute $100.
The Foundation's Board of Directors is volunteer based and is composed of outstanding community leaders, who demonstrate experience, professionalism, and integrity, and are all committed to enriching the program.
Mission
The mission of the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, Inc., is to generate and
distribute resources to the Rockwall Independent School District to enrich and
expand programs needed to meet the District's stated mission of excellence in
education.
