The Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) provides a way for the public to evaluate the educational performance of the District and of each campus in relation to the other schools in the state of Texas. Indicators evaluated in the ratings include Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores, attendance and dropout rates, and other factors.
The four possible accreditation/accountability ratings assigned to schools by the Texas Education Agency are: Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, or Unacceptable. Few schools are designated Exemplary by the state.
